Yeah, I read about that. Pretty cool that they were having AAA baseball games at Dwyer. I read that Frontier Field in Rochester had its largest crowd ever for the day that Petit pitched. On another note, I'm going to a trade show in Philly in 2 weeks. Just bought tickets to Phillies vs. Nationals. Keeping my fingers crossed that Strausburg is pitching against Cole Hamels, and someone plunks Bryce Harper and starts a bench clearing brawl.

Hey! What's wrong with being a Yankees fan? You know Andy Pettit was supposed to pitch for Empire State at Muckdog Staduim But it was switched to Rochester, they had over 13,000 fans show up!

So I guess I'll burn this Isotopes hat & send back the foam finger. My peanuts and cracker jacks were getting stale anyway.
Sadly, I only have time for major league sports these days so I haven't seen the phenomenon you speak of but I am going to say that I actually like a few of these hats.

Are you familiar with the Northwoods League? It's a non-MLB affiliated summer collegiate league in the upper midwest, designed to give college ball players a minor league experience without surrendering their eligibility. It's baseball like the minor leagues used to be before MLB started taking over. I recommend catching a game this summer if you get a chance. There's talk of bringing a club to the Twin Cities in the next few years. http://www.northwoodsleague.com/

I agree completely. It goes beyond baseball too, if you search minor league hockey teams you'll see the same formula at work in their logos.
