Update on beloved Muckdogs

Here at 20 Prospect, I am worried about the home town Muckdogs.

The Niagara Gazette is reporting about continuing losses under the management of the new corporate overlords. More concerning are the comments about the corporatization of the Dwyer Stadium experience.

If any Batavian’s are reading this, and have been to a game this year I’d be curious to hear your take on it.

  1. The “experience” is a hard thing to define. If your goal is to eat, the muckdog bowl tastes like dog food. The Italian sausage is very good, as is the rest of the snack food menu. The beer is expensive. The other option is cheap, which fills the stadium up with obnoxious drunks and keep families from bringing kids.

But the experience is also the game. The Muckdogs are VERY good. IMO, their losses came from basically, mistakes at base coaching. They’re strong at every position, especially pitching.

I’m not a season ticket holder but I’ve already gone to as many games as last year.
